Outcomes like these are what I like to read. It is too bad this gentleman – who truly does seem to be a “gentle man” – had to suffer so needlessly in his workplace. However, he was strong enough to come forward and make his abusers accountable for their actions. Right there shows how much further ahead in the fight the Australians are over the United States. This case is more evidence that the Healthy Workplace Bill must be enacted. Let’s keep fighting, America!

An aeroplane cleaner who was physically abused for missing a single Smartie during months of horrific workplace bullying has won a $325,000 compensation payout.
Gentle-natured Pasquale De Petro, 53, was turned into a psychological wreck as he suffered every day at the hands of his tormentors, and he has been told he will never work again.
Last week a County Court jury awarded the father of four the damages payout, believed to be one of the biggest for bullying in Victoria.
His trial heard that during his three months at International Airline Services, an aircraft contract cleaning company at Tullamarine, his mental and physical health deteriorated to the point where he collapsed.
Mr De Petro said yesterday the Smartie incident shocked and distressed him and his fellow workers.
